She played Karen Walker on the NBC sitcom Will & Grace (1998-2006, 2017-2020) for which she received 8 Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series winning twice in 2000 and 2006. Her performance also earned her nominations to many other awards, like Seven consecutive Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by the Female Actor in a Comedy Series. She won three times between 2001 and 2002. Her first commercial came from a McDonald's commercial, and it also featured John Goodman. Her show debut came on The Ellen Burstyn Show in 1986. Later, she appeared as an actor on other shows like Seinfeld Fesier Wings and Ned Stacey Mad About You Caroline In The City 3rd Rock from the Sun and Just Shoot Me! She was the central character of the Murder She Wrote episode called Coal Miner's Slaughter. She recalled that in 2012, she had not found an employment opportunity in the past years, and she was in a panic because she had no money to pay rent.
